Let’s be honest, we have been living through some strange times over the last couple of years and whether we like it or not the pandemic certainly caused a shift in our wardrobe choices. Pyjama bottoms paired with Zoom friendly tops……we all did it.
But has this shift influenced our style moving into 2023?
We are definitely going to see a more hybrid style where formal meets casual. Blazers paired with straight leg jeans and leather trainers or loafers.
We will want to have a few good quality investment pieces that we can wear time and time again. Designers have continued lots of A/W 22 trends into 2023, meaning that you can get more wear out of pieces that you have already invested in.
There will certainly be a growing demand for occasion wear but Casual wear is going nowhere any time soon, albeit in a more elevated fashion. Think cargo trousers, relaxed fit jeans and knitwear.
TOP TIPS
- Make sure you have some basic wardrobe staples……. the perfect fitting jeans, a classic blazer, a black dress, simple t-shirts and shirts and a denim or leather jacket
- Wear clothes that fit you well.
- Find your own personal style.
- Play with colour and textures, forget matching and use clashing prints and textures to add some interest to your outfit.
- And most importantly…….feel good in what you wear!
